Our day begins with an early rise and breakfast, setting the stage for our journey to Al-khargah. Our first stop will be the Bashandi Archeological Site, where we'll delve into the rich history of the area.
The village is famous for its craftsmanship, showcasing the unique artistry of the oasis in its carpets, rugs, baskets, wood carvings, and intricate embroidery. Following this cultural immersion, we'll head to the Balat El-Faraoneya Tombs.
These five Mastaba-styled tombs, dating back to the Fourth Dynasty, offer a glimpse into the ancient past. After lunch, we'll continue our exploration of Al Kharga, making a visit to Qasr al-Zayan. This ancient temple, dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, was built during the Greek period.
After lunch, we'll journey to Qasr al Labakha, a well-preserved Roman settlement. The ruins include a fortified structure, two temples, and an extensive necropolis. After a full day of exploration, we'll settle in for a night under the stars.
